Adagio For Strings [from Rise of the Triad][M4v3r1cX Remix]

about

Rise of the Triad! The Apogee cult classic game that dares to ask the question: what if instead of designing a shooter like Wolfenstein 3D, we just made a bullshit hard platformer from a first person perspective? I'm sure Doom won't blow us out of the water! Also let's have God make the soundtrack.

Jokes aside, I love Rise of the Triad. I beat it once as a kid back in the day and hadn't played it again till the New Blood re-release. I did play the 2013 remake tho, made by the same people who would go on to make some of my favorite boomer shooters. Andrew Hulshult did a stellar job with the soundtrack, but his take on Adagio for Strings wasn't my favorite, tbh. I've always wondered how I would've made it sound given the chance, and last week I remembered I have a YouTube channel and people put off with whatever I make, so here's a really worse version of what Hulshult did.

Back in 2011, user MasterInfernoMusic commented on YouTube, "If you wanna get really technical, it's composed by Remo Giazotto, based on a fragment of a Tomaso Albinoni composition, with this arrangement by Lee Jackson (which was actually the first version of it I ever heard, not finding the original until many years later). So it's generally credited to Albinoni."
